Factory inspection in China.

Know what you are buying before it leaves China. We go to the plant, check the order physically and report before dispatch.

Why inspection happens before shipping

Because after shipping there is no negotiation left. Once the container leaves the Chinese port, any quality problem is discussed ten thousand kilometres away, with the goods in your warehouse and the payment made. Factory inspection in China exists so that conversation happens while the product is still on the factory floor.

What we check

  • Supplier verification: that the factory exists, produces and has real capacity.
  • Physical review of the order: quantity, finish, dimensions, materials and function.
  • AQL sampling when volume justifies it, or unit-by-unit review for large pieces.
  • Packing and marking — where half a load gets lost in transit.
  • Photo and video report before dispatch, so you decide with evidence.

The three moments of quality control

Before production you check the approved sample and the raw material. During production you catch a bad batch while it can still be fixed. Before dispatch you verify the finished, packed order. Most clients do the last one; for large or first-time orders, all three are worth it.

What happens if the order is wrong

We tell you with photos and give you the real options: fix, replace, discount or don't ship. Standing there, you negotiate. Standing here, you complain. It is not the same thing.

Who does the inspection

Damodara, co-founder of SAGARA. He spent years running printers, cutting plotters and industrial equipment in large-format advertising, and he is also a designer. When he looks at a finish or a machine he sees what a middleman doesn't. We don't send a third party to fill in a form.

FAQ

How long does a factory inspection take?

The visit is usually one day and the report arrives within 24 to 48 hours. It depends where the plant is: China is enormous and not everything is in Guangdong.

If the order is urgent, give us the dispatch date and we arrange the visit before it.

Does it work if I found the supplier myself?

Yes. Many clients come exactly that way: they have a supplier and want someone to verify before paying the balance. It is our most requested service.

What is an AQL inspection?

A standard statistical method: instead of checking all 10,000 units, you check a representative sample and accept or reject the lot based on how many defects appear.

It's used for volume products. For machinery or large pieces we check unit by unit.

Do I get an official document?

You get a dated report with photos, video and observations, which is what you use to negotiate with the supplier. If you need certification from an accredited body for customs or insurance, we tell you which and coordinate it.
