How much does a China sourcing agent charge?
It depends on the model: a commission on the purchase value, a fixed project fee, or a monthly retainer if the volume is recurring. We agree it before starting and put it in writing.
What we don't do is take a hidden commission from the factory. Our income comes from you, which is why we can tell you not to buy when buying is a bad idea.
How do you verify a factory is real?
We check the business licence, the export registration and the declared capacity, and we go to the plant. A company can exist on paper and still be an office reselling what someone else makes.
Knowing whether you are talking to the maker or the middleman prevents most problems.
Can I just buy on Alibaba without an agent?
You can, and for small orders it can make sense. The risk grows with volume: the supplier who answers fastest isn't always the one who builds best, and platform verification is not a site visit.
